| On Monday, the conference inaugurated in
the city of Puebla, where we started with an informal session where
everyone present introduced themselves and gave a brief overview over
their current projects. Thereafter, Ricardo Baruch from The
International AIDS Society invited us all to the
XVII International AIDS Conference (AIDS 2008), which will be held 3 - 8
August 2008 in Mexico City |

In the
afternoon, Antonio Marquet from Universidad
Autónoma Metropolitana UAM) in Mexico, presented his exhibition Vihda
y draguería – LHIVe and Dragness
|

Thereafter,
Samia Omar, originally from Kenya and currently at the Stony
BrookUniversity in New York spoke about her art and her exhibition: The
Significance’ of AIDS for Women: Social Stigma and Illness Experiences
Portrayed through Art – El Significado del SIDA para las Mujeres:
Estigma Social y Experiencias de Enfermedad Retratadas en el Arte

| After the sessions of the day, Jesus
Gómez, a native poblano, gave the conference delegates an introduction
to the nightlife of Puebla... |

| ... and finally we ended up in a cosy bar
at the famous Plazuela de los Sapos (Square of Toads) where we had a
good bye toast for Samia who had to leave early the next day. |
